Webinar: Addressing the Social Determinants of Health

Presenters:

Shannon Read, MPA—Executive Director of Black Mothers United, a program that provides education, resources and support to pregnant African-American women residing in Sacramento County in order to help ensure a smooth and safe pregnancy, and a healthy baby.

Laura Gottlieb, MD, MPH—is an Associate Professor of Family and Community Medicine and Director of the Social Interventions Research and Evaluation Network (SIREN) at the University of California, San Francisco. She is also Associate Director of the RWJF Evidence for Action National Program Office.

Presentation Objectives:

Participants were meant to learn about addressing the social determinants of health (SDOH) within a specific population, and gain a better understanding of SDOH in relation to pediatrics and the implementation barriers to clinic-based SDOH interventions. Participants will leave the presentation with a better understanding of how to address the SDOH in their own work.
